The Top of the World

The view from the top of the world.
We went to a family reunion in the high mountains of Montana this weekend. It was the first time that Dragon or Little Lion had ever been camping, and I got to meet family that I haven't seen in decades. We had a wonderful time, although the drive was tricky. Take two babies, haul a fifth wheel trailer through the switchback roads of rural Montana, and you have a trip that was both wonderful and exhausting. It took two days for us to get to the lodge, but the scenery was breathtaking. Both babies did fairly well, they are travelers like their mommy. Dragon really liked the experience of camping, her biggest happiness came from toasting marshmallows over the fire and throwing rocks in the river. Little Lion did very well, he likes to drive and was content to look out the window at the trees. Although I have to say that camping is much different when you use a trailer. I am used to just pitching a tent and sleeping on the ground, but with babies a RV makes it much easier. Plus I am spoiled and like electricity...
